A Day at Sydney Breast Clinic

We understand that a day at Sydney Breast Clinic can be an anxious one, however it is our aim to make the time that our patients spend with us as reassuring as possible.

Our unique approach to delivering same day results does mean that patients may need to spend more time with us depending on their individual risk profiles and imaging findings. However, the standard length of a visit for most patients is between 2-4 hours.

The diagram below takes you through the structure of your visit to us:

Arrival

  • Arrival on morning of appointment
  • Fill in required paperwork
  • Meet with support staff to discuss patient journey

Testing

  • Stage 1: Mammogram
  • Stage 2: Clinical history and breast examination
  • Waiting room whilst result reviewed
  • Stage 3: Ultrasound (if required)
  • Waiting room whilst result reviewed
  • Stage 4: Fine needle aspiration or core biopsy (if required)

Results

  • All tests are analysed by the specialist team
  • Clinical consultant discusses results with you
  • Referring doctor provided with report
  • Referring doctor to discuss next steps with you if required
