To complement a comprehensive risk assessment, Avantect Early Detection Testing for Pancreatic & Ovarian Cancers is now available nation-wide.
This testing, an Australian first brought by BCAL Diagnostics, is designed to support clinicians in identifying potential cancer signals earlier, particularly in patients with elevated risk profiles. It may be considered as part of a broader discussion around personalised risk, alongside appropriate imaging, genetic counselling, and specialist input.
Ovarian Cancer
Ovarian cancer is closely linked to hereditary breast cancer syndromes. Unlike breast cancer, ovarian cancer does not have an effective routine screening pathway, and symptoms are often subtle or mistaken for common benign conditions. As a result, approximately 70% of cases are diagnosed at an advanced stage.
Pancreatic Cancer
Known for progressing quietly, pancreatic cancer is frequently detected at late stages. Early diagnosis dramatically improves outcomes — but remains difficult with current methods.
